Soundtracking My Imaginary World
In my imaginary world I would create podcasts centered around makeup reviews. Podcasts would not come out in a scheduled manner, just when new products from high end brands are being launched. The entire podcast would not just be about one product, however there would be some sort of connection between the items being discussed. For instance, if an entire collection came out, I would review it fully and give my thoughts on what are the must haves of the collection and what I would pass on. That would be its own separate podcast considering collections are rather large.
Another example of my podcasts formatting would be grouping new products based upon their location on the face. I would either review new eyeshadow palettes, face products, lip products, etc. just so there is consistency in the items.
I would not be the only voice on the podcast. I would have special guests (mostly my friends) to come on the show that I could use as another person to apply the products on. As I'm using these products I would comment on their performance, blendability, pigmentation, etc. My model/guest there would also have the opportunity to comment on the finish, feel, and any other feedback regarding the products on the face.
Not only would I discuss the products themselves, but I would talk about the brands releasing the products, the packaging, color range, and price points. Every episode of the podcast would end with me giving my stamp of approval on the products or telling my listeners it isn't worth the money.
Audio I would include would be light upbeat background music for transitions between segments and application processes.
Linked below are a few beauty inspired podcasts that I would take inspiration from. I will admit I have not listened to all of these podcasts, but one that I really enjoyed was The Beauty Brains. These two girls are cosmetic chemists and the goal of their show is to inform the community about ingredients going into their makeup products and how to be a smart buyer. It was interesting for me because I am a Biology major so clearly I'm a science nerd, and to hear people talk about two of my favorite things combined was really enjoying to listen to.
